Sandbanks
January 2021
The golden sand of Sandbanks, the Miami of England if you will. It is to these beautiful beaches in Dorset I dedicate this arrangement, in honour of the luxurious and relaxing times spent along the seashore. A small man-made peninsula, stemming from the mouth of the Poole Harbour, Sandbanks is known for its coastal views and expensive real estate. Summer vacation anyone? This is where the wealthy investors and star footballers come to get some R&R and catch some rays.

In the past I’ve been lucky enough to frequent this beautiful spot in England, spending time learning to sail on a friend’s boat, staying in the ever-colourful town of Bournemouth. I’d like to say that I toured the sites, such as the gorgeous Oceanarium, or the Russell Cotes Art gallery and Museum, but in truth I spent most of my time sunbathing. We did however take the boat out to visit Old Harry Rocks, which is a series of cliffs much more enticing than the name lets on. We also got to visit Rick Stein restaurant a few times, devouring the most delicious seafood with sparkling wines to pair.
Sandbanks is in a way very separate and almost a bit commercial, compared to the other towns and cities I’ve written about. The Homes along the beach are mostly upscale and modern, and the landscape, apart from the odd native plant, is very minimal and manicured. It’s very different from what one pictures when thinking of your typical English town, and yet there is a vibrancy and youthful energy that can’t be matched.

Our Sandbanks bouquet offers a bright and airy appeal with fresh coral colours and edgy modern shapes. The Blush King-Pin Protea really shines with its unique form and is the perfect fit to represent this coastal region. Double-headed lisianthus, and pinkish red cow parsley create more texture and energy while the dwarf pampas grass brings a soft as sand touch. Pick up a Sandbanks bouquet and bring all the tranquil memories of the seaside home.
